About St Catherine's College
St Catherine’s College, affectionately known as ‘St Catz’ (or simply ‘Catz’), is the University of Oxford’s youngest undergraduate college, founded in 1962 by historian Allan Bullock. The striking glass and concrete buildings were designed by Arne Jacobsen, combining modern building materials with the traditional collegiate quadrangle layout. Not only the College buildings but also the cutlery, furniture and lampshades were designed by Jacobsen.
Famous alumni include Benazir Bhutto (late Prime Minister of Pakistan), Joseph Heller (the American novelist who wrote Catch-22) and Ben Willbond (star of Horrible Histories).
St Catz is a short walk away from Oxford’s city centre, and set within acres of green space.

Accommodation details
St Catz is one of the colleges in which our Oxford Summer School is hosted. Students stay in standard undergraduate student bedrooms, experiencing a real taste of Oxford student life. Bathrooms are shared between a few students. Male and female students are separated by corridors and/or staircases.
Campus Information
St Catherine's College boasts comfortable modern bedrooms and facilities. Its distinctive buildings are set within spacious grounds and adjacent to the University Parks. Despite this green setting, Catz is a five minute walk from the High Street.

Safety
The campus is closed and monitored by security 24/7. Security is overseen by a Programme Director. Student safety and wellbeing is supported by counsellors who manage operations and provide pastoral, cultural and social care day and night.
