Academy Royale International’s Law course is taught by an expert faculty of top legal minds and practising lawyers.
CEO, Justice of the Peace and Magistrate
Deborah Vorhies is CEO of the FairWild Foundation and a global sustainability policy and investment strategist. Her career includes roles with the United Nations Environment Programme, World Bank Group and international NGOs. She has qualifications in law and finance and holds a Master’s in Philosophy. She is a Justice of the Peace, and serves as a magistrate in the English court.
University of Oxford
Lavanya Rajamani is Professor of International Environmental Law at the University of Oxford and Yamani Fellow in Public International Law at St Peter’s College. A former Rhodes Scholar, she holds an LLM from Yale and a DPhil and BCL from Oxford, with extensive academic experience in environmental and international law. She also holds a B.A.LL.B. (Honours) from National Law School, Bangalore, where she graduated at the top of her class with several gold medals.
University of Oxford
Yusuf Olalere is an Associate working in corporate practice and holds an MSc in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford, delivered jointly through the Faculty of Law and Saïd Business School. He achieved a Distinction in Finance as part of his postgraduate studies at Oxford.

The mock trial Challenge Day is a chance to put everything you have learned about the UK legal system into practice. You will engage in complex argumentation and cross-examination to reach a verdict and sentence on a compelling case, all while following proper courtroom etiquette.

This programme is designed for any students who are enthusiastic and interested in the law. Students do not need to be aspiring lawyers, they just need to be interested in law and society. On the course, they will gain a range of insights and skills which will benefit them across a range of subjects including politics, history and business.
No previous subject knowledge is needed. This course provides a strong foundation in the study of law as well as introducing and developing new skills. Thanks to the small class sizes and regular opportunities for personalised feedback, students feel supported to excel while they encounter new academic challenges.
The course is designed to push bright students to take on new academic challenges by introducing lots of new concepts and practical tasks. While students are stretched, their learning is guided by expert members of our faculty and takes place in small classes, ensuring that every student feels supported and enjoys their learning while encountering new ideas.
Many students in this age group will not have started thinking about university, but for those who leave Academy Royale International set on going to law school, the course is the perfect early preparation for university applications. Our students have a head start on their knowledge of the law and the opportunity to ask their tutors and real law professionals for application advice. They also receive a certificate, grades and a report which make excellent supporting materials for a strong university application.
The course is very hands-on. Each module involves practical demonstrations and tasks, and the final Practical Project is a chance for students to immerse themselves in an extended piece of hands-on work. Students enjoy consolidating their learning through these practical challenges and getting to know their classmates during team challenges.
A typical morning involves a lecture and two seminars or workshops. In the afternoon students have another extended workshop or practical session. The rest of the day is spent socialising with friends during activities, enjoying delicious meals in inspiring campus settings and exploring the city.
The programme takes place in one of two inspiring campuses in the historic colleges of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Whichever location they choose, students have access to university-level facilities and teaching spaces.
By teaching in small groups, we ensure that each student has a personalised relationship with their tutor. This means they receive high-quality constructive feedback and any support they need in class. It also means that students bond with their classmates, creating a friendly atmosphere in which students get involved and ask questions with confidence.
Our students come from all over the world. Since our first summer school in 2004, we have welcomed students from over 175 countries. They speak a wide range of languages and come from a wide range of backgrounds, creating a vibrant community perfect for international students.
At the end of the course, students receive a graduation pack which contains a certificate acknowledging their academic achievements during the course. They also receive a personalised report and detailed grades.
