Founded in 1843, Marlborough College offers an inspiring, self-contained campus where students can learn, live and make friends with confidence. Life at Marlborough has a rhythm of its own. Students wake in their boarding house, meet friends over breakfast, learn in inspiring classrooms and spend the afternoon making the most of the campus.
Shared bedrooms and bathrooms create friendly house communities, while common rooms provide space to relax. Nutritious meals are served in the College refectory. A whole summer experience
Britain becomes the classroom
Explore London, Oxford, Bath, Stonehenge, Warwick Castle and other remarkable destinations through carefully planned, fully supervised trips.
Excursions are an essential part of the experience, giving students new reasons to communicate, new cultural reference points and shared memories with friends. Each course has its own excursion schedule; Iconic Britain includes six signature visits over two weeks.
A international community from day one
Quiz nights, creative challenges, talent shows and cultural celebrations make it easy to join in and belong.
Activities are structured so nobody is left out. Students practise English naturally, discover different cultures and build the confidence to be themselves within a welcoming international group.

Enjoy football, tennis, netball, cricket, basketball, badminton, dance, yoga and swimming.
Marlborough’s exceptional sporting spaces give students room to move, compete and have fun. Sessions welcome different abilities and focus on participation, teamwork and shared enjoyment.

Marlborough College is in the historic market town of Marlborough in Wiltshire. It is approximately 65 miles from Heathrow Airport and 78 miles from central London, with good access to Oxford, Bath and many major attractions.
English Explorer accepts students from A1+, English Discovery requires A2+, and IELTS Preparation, Academic Discovery and Young Game Creators require B1+. Some English Explorer electives or Academy add-ons may require A2 or B1.
Academy Royale International welcomes students aged 10–18 at Marlborough. Individual programmes have specific age ranges: English Discovery, Academic Discovery and Young Game Creators are for ages 10–12; English Explorer is for ages 13–18; Iconic Britain and IELTS Preparation are for ages 14–18.
Most programmes can be taken for one, two, three or four weeks. Iconic Britain and Young Game Creators are fixed two-week programmes. Availability depends on the chosen start date
Students stay in secure, high-quality boarding houses in shared bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Common rooms create relaxed social spaces, and residential staff help students settle into their house community.
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included and served in Marlborough College’s refectory. Families should provide full dietary, allergy and medical information during enrolment so the team can advise on individual needs.
Classes have a maximum of 15 students. This enables teachers to involve every student, give regular feedback and create a supportive environment for speaking, collaboration and project work.
A dedicated residential team provides 24-hour supervision, supported by trained staff and designated senior safeguarding leads. The overall on-campus staff-to-student ratio is 1:6. Students are supervised during lessons, activities and excursions, with arrangements appropriate to age.
Residential staff are present in the boarding houses and carry out regular wellbeing check-ins, especially for younger students. Clear routines, shared activities and familiar staff help students settle quickly, while individual support is available whenever needed.
Most programmes include two supervised full-day excursions per week. Destinations vary by week and can include Oxford, London, Bath, Stonehenge, Warwick Castle, Bristol, Legoland, Longleat and the Cotswolds. Iconic Britain includes six signature excursions across its two-week journey.
Students enjoy sports, creative workshops, quizzes, games, talent shows, cultural celebrations and evening socials. The programme is structured from morning to evening, with time to relax and build friendships in the boarding houses.
A supervised transfer service is available from Heathrow Airport for an additional fee. Families requiring transfers from another airport should contact the Admissions Team. Full arrival and departure guidance is provided before the course.
The fee includes tuition, residential accommodation, meals, scheduled activities and excursions, teaching materials, pastoral care, a certificate and a personalised report. Optional academies, airport transfers, merchandise and certain upgrades may cost extra.
All students must have comprehensive insurance for their entire stay. Visa requirements depend on nationality and personal circumstances; families are responsible for obtaining the correct visa and should check current official government guidance. Academy Royale International can provide supporting information where appropriate.
