Inspiring ideas. Historic college settings. Friendships that make every moment matter.
Behind the historic college gates of Oxford and Cambridge, inspiring ideas, extraordinary surroundings and friendships from across the world come together to create something magical. Every day brings the anticipation of discovery, the joy of belonging and moments that students will remember long after they return home.

Morning in college
Morning begins in college: familiar faces at breakfast, footsteps across a quadrangle and the anticipation of a subject waiting to be explored. The buildings that seemed so unfamiliar on arrival are becoming part of everyday life.
Across the breakfast table, plans take shape and conversations begin. There is a feeling of belonging, and a whole day ahead.

The morning lecture
In a college teaching room, an Academy Royale International lecture introduces a question that opens up new possibilities. A student may see a long-loved subject in a different light or encounter a field they had never imagined studying at university.
Our academic faculty and guest lecturers bring their subjects to life through specialist insight and fresh perspectives. A new interest takes hold. A familiar ambition begins to feel more real.

The first seminar
By the first seminar, the question belongs to the students. They offer answers, test one another’s arguments and hear perspectives shaped by lives in different parts of the world.
In a room of curious minds, there is space to ask, to disagree and to find the words for an idea still taking shape. Someone makes a point that stays with them through lunch.

Lunch with friends
A conversation that began in class continues among friends as they spend time together in Oxford or Cambridge. An interesting question gives way to a shared joke, a story from home or plans for the afternoon.
Younger students enjoy lunch and time together on campus. Older students may head into town to discover a favourite café or lunch spot. These unhurried moments are where new acquaintances begin to feel like old friends.

The afternoon challenge
The afternoon brings a chance to apply what students have learned. Depending on their programme, they might take part in a mock trial, a clinical skills workshop, or develop a business proposal.
An expert’s insight becomes something they can use. As they test an approach, solve a problem or present their thinking, they begin to understand both what a subject asks of them and what studying it further could be like.

Beyond the classroom
There is time to explore the city, join an activity and enjoy being here with people who arrived as strangers and are becoming friends. A museum visit, punting, or a game together brings its own discoveries.
Oxford and Cambridge offer remarkable settings for these moments. Between historic streets, college courtyards and time on the water, the summer becomes a collection of experiences students will carry home.

Dinner in college
At dinner in college, stories cross the table alongside the ideas from class. The hall fills with conversation; the morning’s question may still be under discussion. Around them, historic surroundings give an everyday meal a sense of occasion.
Formal dinners bring their own celebration: dressing for the evening, taking a place beside new friends and sharing in the traditions of college life. For a moment, there is nowhere else they would rather be.

An evening together
An evening together brings its own moments to remember. A quiz becomes a friendly rivalry. A shared activity uncovers a hidden talent. Laughter carries across the group as the day’s discoveries become tomorrow’s stories.
Then comes the walk back to college and the anticipation of what is still to come. Tomorrow will bring another question, another challenge or a different way of seeing something familiar.
Across two weeks, days like this give students knowledge, friendships and a clearer sense of the direction they want to take. They return home with stories to tell, people to stay in touch with and new confidence in what comes next. Long after the bags are unpacked, something of that summer stays with them.
