Where Britain Becomes the Classroom
Iconic Britain doesn't just teach the language, it teaches the story behind it. Each lesson connects to a place students will visit that week. A study of Medieval castles is brought to life by Warwick Castle, never to be forgotten. Classroom learning and real experience reinforce each other, so English becomes the natural language of discovery, communication, and explanation.

Every day blends two core English lessons inspired by the place you'll visit next, a hands-on project connected to that day's topic, and a Get Active session, building language skills, confidence, and a passion for history and culture side by side.
The Iconic Britain Course
The Lessons
Two lessons each morning are built around fascinating topics and grounded by in-person excursions, designed to encourage discussion and critical thinking. Topics range from the Monarchy & Parliament to Ancient Wonders & World Heritage, Medieval Britain, Shakespeare & the West End, J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World, and Oxford & Britain's Universities.
Students research, present, and debate in English, strengthening core skills and turning every place into a springboard for in-depth learning and authentic conversation.
Morning lessons are followed by a hands-on project designed to inspire and develop communication, putting today's theme straight into practice. Students might present on the role of the monarchy or system of government in their own country, produce a poster of a UNESCO world heritage site before getting the chance to visit it, or study entertainment before film, television, and the internet.

The Excursions
Daily Get Active sessions bring energy and teamwork into the mix. Choose between football, tennis, netball, swimming/water polo, badminton, cricket, basketball, dance, yoga, and more!
Students gain a well-rounded experience, building resilience, friendships, and confidence, all while developing their English.
From Academy Royale International's Got Talent to the Graduation Party, evenings are filled with games, talent shows, and shared adventures, so the skills learned and friendships formed carry on long after the coach ride home.

Week 1
Ancient Wonders and Royal Traditions
Visit Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament as you tour London's most iconic sights, then enjoy free time to shop in Covent Garden.
Students research, present, and debate in English, strengthening core skills and turning every place into a springboard for in-depth learning and authentic conversation.
See two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one day, soaking up the unforgettable atmosphere of Stonehenge before exploring the long history of an elegant city famous for its Roman baths.
Explore the dreaming spires of Oxford, one of Britain's most iconic cities and home to one of the world's oldest and most prestigious universities. Wander through ancient halls, atmospheric colleges and inspiring libraries.
Week two
From Shakespeare to the Silver Screen
Step back in time to Shakespeare's historic birthplace, and let imaginations run wild at one of England's most impressive medieval castles.
Students gain a well-rounded experience, building resilience, friendships, and confidence, all while developing their English.
Spend a day at the theatre: visit Shakespeare's own Globe, then catch an unmissable show in London's West End.
Go behind the scenes of a real film set, and discover how the magic of storytelling really comes to life.

Iconic Britain is designed for curious 14 to 18 year-olds ready to immerse themselves in English language, history, and culture alongside like-minded peers from around the world.
Not a formal qualification, but Iconic Britain does require a minimum level of B1, since its lessons and excursions move at a quicker, more independent pace than our other programmes.
Iconic Britain lessons are academically structured around cultural places and historic events, but the focus is on applying that knowledge through presentations, projects, and conversation, not textbook drills.
Very. Every lesson connects to somewhere students will actually visit that week, whether that's presenting a heritage project or picking up phrases inside Shakespeare's own Globe theatre.
Most days feature two English lessons, a related project session, and a Get Active session. Twice a week, a full-day excursion replaces the standard timetable entirely.
At Marlborough College, within easy reach of Heathrow Airport (65 miles / 1hr 15m) and Central London (78 miles / 2hrs). We provide full travel guidance and transfer options ahead of every course.
Classes are capped at 15 students, with a 1:6 staff-to-student ratio and close pastoral support throughout.
