About Clare College
Clare College was founded in the year 1326, making it the second oldest constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Alongside this ancient pedigree, the college has a reputation for liberalism and inclusivity. In 1972, Clare was among the first three colleges in Cambridge to admit female students. Today, the college remains highly popular for prospective students and takes particular pride in the transparency of its admissions process.
Clare is known for the beauty of its architecture, and boasts two traditional quadrangles: Memorial Court and Old Court. Between the Courts and the college’s famously stunning riverside gardens, students have a wealth of atmospheric space in which to relax and study.

Accommodation details
Clare is one of the colleges in which our Academy Royale International Summer School is hosted. Students are accommodated in standard undergraduate bedrooms, experiencing a real taste of undergraduate life. Students are kept separate by gender.

Safety
The campus is closed and monitored by security 24/7. Security is overseen by a Programme Director. Student safety and wellbeing is supported by counsellors who manage operations and provide pastoral, cultural and social care day and night.
